Written From The Heart
by Morteza Abdolalian

The sky will become bright
From this long and dark curtain
And our return from this exile is certain

Oakville's writing tradition is enriched by the whole community.
Mori has participated actively through various writer's groups
Former President of the Inkwell Writer's Group, Derik Hawley,
observed.

Mori came from a different culture, cultures actually, than

the rest of us. Yet through his sharing we could understand,

and by sharing his understanding he made us and our writing

richer. This is what poetry is for.

His poetry explores life in Canada from his unique perspective,
his love of language and its power to express experience shows
through as observes the world around him.

                      A word froze to death

                      On a freezing winter day,
A diction came to my mind,
As I was about to write it on a paper,
                      It froze to death.

                                  Kerr Street & Lakeshore Road

                                  Oakville, Ontario, Canada. 1997

His work goes beyond his Canadian experiences. Mori has traveled

extensively, and lived in Iran, The Philippines and Japan. His writing

shares these experiences in a way that makes it both human and

approachable.

                      Occupant of soul

                      In a surprise moments
The wave that slammed on my eyes
                      Went through
                      Washed my brain
                      Landed in my soul
                      Another permanent resident
                      “Tsunami”

                          Oakville, Ontario, Canada.
