In the year 2000 three of us -Doctor Reza Baraheni the prominent Iranian writer and literary critic and president of Pen Canada, Hasan Zerehi the Iranian journalist and writer and me nominated Akbar Ganji the Iranian journalist for CJFE's international award for his courage on reporting.Akbar Ganji after release from years of prison -later came to Canada and was welcomed by CJFE and Iranian community in Canada.
